The successful button industry in Lüdenscheid includes the metal button factory P.C. Turck, founded in 1791. There, trouser and vest buckles, trouser suspenders, trimming buttons and belt buckles were produced and sold as far away as China. With additional production for the automotive industry starting in the late 1950s, the company repositioned itself. In 2016, the company celebrated its 225th anniversary.
